To put it another way, I’ve heard some say that comparing the two is like comparing Netflix to Hulu. If anything, the new PlayStation Plus is better thought of as a simpler way to get the old PlayStation Now subscription service (which will soon be retired) to more people. However, that comparison falls apart fairly quickly once you take a deeper look at both subscription services. While we’re still waiting for additional information regarding some of the finer details of that program (including its exact release date beyond a vague “June” window), many are already calling it PlayStation’s long-awaited answer to Xbox Game Pass. It’s a nice, quick read with some neat looks into the process. The PlayStation team recently confirmed months’ worth of rumors by revealing their revamped PlayStation Plus subscription program. You can also have a read of a developer post from Philippe Dionne, Level Designer at the studio, over on the PlayStation Blog if you’re keen on some interesting insight into how Sabotage is breaking classical RPG convention with fresh ideas on movement and traversal as well as how it’s approached level design in general. Sabotage Studios has also revealed a demo for Sea of Stars is available on the PlayStation Store right now, making the playable demo now available on every major platform for curious punters to try for themselves. It’s seemingly the first time that a game has launched on both services simultaneously, which is a feat in itself but given the buzz around this game from both indie game and RPG fans it’s definitely a win for players on both services. Sea of Stars, the incredibly exciting retro-flavoured RPG coming from Sabotage Studios (The Messenger), is set to launch next month on August 29th across multiple platforms but both players subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe as well as those with a Game Pass membership are sharing in the extra-special news that they’ll have access to the game from launch as part of their respective libraries.
